Thanks.

OK, let's make one thing straight... do you really really want widescreen? If you aren't going to be taking advantage of the meager advantages (in my opinion), then it's not worth it. Want a widescreen? go with another brand. Thinkpads, as far as i'm concerned, shall stay the last outpost of non-widescreen in the laptop world.

Models with wide:
Entire Z series
T60 wide (one model)

Widescreen has numerous advantages, BUT, if you're looking at a 15.4" or even bigger model, and if you want to carry it around, you do want to think about whether it's too bulky.

Among Thinkpads, the Z series is the only one with 14.1" widescreen.
Microsoft Surface 3 (Atom x7-Z8700 / 4GB / 128GB / LTE)
Dell OptiPlex 9010 SFF (Core i3-3220 / 8GB / 8TB); HP 8300 Elite minitower (Core i7-3770 / 16GB / 9.25TB)
Acer T272HUL; Crossover 404K; Dell 3008WFP, U2715H, U2711, P2416D; Monoprice 10734; QNIX QHD2410R; Seiki Pro SM40UNP
