14" T60p not available in flex view?
14" T60p not available in flex view?
Why did Lenovo not make the 14" screen with flex view?
How big of a difference does flex view really make? I will want to view some dvd's and people will not always be looking straight ahead they may be to the side of the laptop screen a bit.

I am looking to buy a laptop, not sure which yet.
You can't get a 14" Flexview. Lenovo doesn't offer one, because up to date I haven't heard of a single manufacturer that made such a panel.
As long as the PC is on eye level, side viewing angles are quite good on the non-Flexview screens. If you have no complaints on your 17" LCD, you should be able to work just fine with the 14" non-Flexview.

i don't agree..
IPS is best..
sadly, its only now offered on 15 inch 1050x1400 AFAIK..
but
to each his own..
i find regular displays need to be positioned "just right" to be just right..
OH, the tablet is flexview..

I agree with you completely. I've been thinking about getting an ultraportable, and the only one I'm considering is the X60 Tablet. Not because I need the tablet functions, and despite the fact that it's significantly heavier than the regular X60/s. The only reason is that I absolutely refuse to compromise on the screen. Once I've owned my first IPS laptop (T42), I don't ever want to go back to the regular screens.BillMorrow wrote:i don't agree..

But, I've learned that not to everyone the marvels of the screen are so important that any other considerations become secondary. I can totally understand people who want a smaller/lighter laptop, and will go for a 14" model, even if it means no Flexview.

Re: 14" T60p not available in flex view?
I owned an A31p with 15" Flexview UXGA monitor and didn't notice any difference with non-Flexview LCDs. It really depends on how picky you are.cybyte wrote:How big of a difference does flex view really make?

I've seen a 14" T42 SXGA+ with an IPS/Flexview display.. so you might be able to get (a replacement display) second hand/refurbished. Or an entire system..You can't get a 14" Flexview. Lenovo doesn't offer one, because up to date I haven't heard of a single manufacturer that made such a panel.
here.

here's something I've been wondering: do any Mac laptops use IPS panels?
whatever the case, I can certainly say that I've never seen a more beautiful, vibrant screen than this FV on my new T60p; I agree, it'd be most undesirable to ever have to revert to a non-FV display on a future laptop (much less some awful glossy display);

It would likely be a PITA.Does that mean you can swap the screen from a T60 with one from a T4X?
99.9% that it's an error.
That ebay listing very well could be erroneous, but my co-worker has a t42 with a 14.1" SXGA+ flexview. He bought it on ebay.com December of last year.
That system was what inspired me to get my t60p

How did your co-worker know it's Flexview? I agree with dr_st that there aren't 14.1" Flexview displays. I just searched for the word "Flexview" in both the tabook and the ltwbook and all occurrences of that word are for 15.0" displays.seeplus wrote:That ebay listing very well could be erroneous, but my co-worker has a t42 with a 14.1" SXGA+ flexview.
