embedded controler and bios update

I was trying out different bios between 1xxx versions and 2xxx versions to see if that would make any difference with the level of fan noise.

Just wanted to know if it is bad to update the bios a couple of times or will no harm be done?

After updating the bios, the machine restarts and when I press F1 it restarts again before I can go into the bios. Is this a problem.

Any insight would be appreciated.
