T60p: System recovery doesn't work
Posted: Mon Feb 05, 2007 6:12 pm
Argh! My new T60p arrived at work today and some *#@&$§ thought it was _his_ new T60p.
By the time he was informed it was not his, he had already installed some other version of XP without any drivers or anything. He also shrunk the Windows partition.
Now it says in the manual, that when I press "ThinkVantage" during startup, I will be taken to the "Rescue and Recovery" menu, but instead I get the "Startup interrupt" menu from which I cannot choose to reinstall Windows from the recovery partition.
The recovery partition is still there, I already checked (it is called SERICEV001 and is 4.27 GB big according to XP).
What do I have to do to start the recovery process?
Thanks in advance,
mitch
