t60p shutoff when in sleep mode or on and then docked

Hi all.

whenever some (not all) of my users running xp sp2 patched and patched with lenovo drivers plug into the advanced mini dock regardless of whether it is in sleep (suspend) or up, the system shuts off. I do remember seeing threads and issues with it when it first came out, but then i thought all was well. Its not OS related and it does not happen on all machines. I have the same exact 2700 93 u and 2 people (1 vista ultimate msdn copy) and 1 from the build XP sp2 that came with it have same issue.

i had fixed a problem with the 1gb net connector turning off the deep power save mode (which hides the network connector (hardwired) when it is not plugged in. That seemed to work on the xp system 2 times but then came back again.

I tried different systems and different docks same issue.

Yet mine in XP and vista works fine and so do the 20 others we have.. any clues?

Some computers has a short when you dock it, mine is one of them..
I've heard people fixing it by grounding the dock directly, and some by touching a metal part of the computer and the dock, and then dock it..

Heard from Lenovo that they are working on a fix that they will distribute if you have the issue (odd that not all pc's do it). its little feet and caps to cover the metal, hard to describe but they are also are coming with a updated mini dock

Should probably try to continue this conversation in the already established post:

T60 shuts down when docking is attempted
