random white pixel?

#1 Post by Raptor47 » Thu Feb 08, 2007 6:53 pm

I've got a strange issue with my (two-week-old) T60p widescreen. Occasionally a pixel will become white, almost as though it is stuck, but will disappear when it is rebooted. It is not always in the same location, but moves randomly around the central third portion of the screen. Sometimes after using a fullscreen app (VLC, for instance) it will take on the last known color in that spot instead of white. Does anyone know what's going on? Nothing shows up when I test for dead pixels with Dead Pixel Buddy.

Just press the middle mouse button on the Thinkpad keyboard and see if it goes away.
Apathy is on the rise, but nobody seems to care.

Unfortunately this workaround doesn't work if you have set the middle button to work as middle mouse click. You have to reconfigure the middle button to scrolling, press, put the settings back to middle mouse.

This is terrible, any ideas how to solve it?
