Hi there all!
I started this new post to see if anyone can help me with a answer here about this:
Does the X1400 video card support the Dell 3007wp monitor ?
Simplier will be does the ati mobility x1400 suport 2560*1600 external monitor resolution?
If not, have you tryed to get a video card in the advanced dockstaion, and use that particular monitor? What is the drawback of the advanced dock?
Regards,
Vladut

That's a beautiful monitor; it's gone way down in price, too.
I think the maximum DVI resolution supported (through a dock) from your x1400 is 2048x1536.
2560x1600 requires a Dual Link DVI card, which would have to be mounted in the Advanced Dock. There are lots of dual link cards around.. x1900, QuadroFX, etc. Might be interesting to see which ones fit in the dock.
In other LCD news, check this beast out; the IBM T221

Though only 22.1", it has a native resolution of 3840 x 2400!

As I mentioned earlier today in another thread, I saw two T221's on eBay several months ago, each with a BIN price of only $300 shipped! I didn't buy them because I didn't (and still don't) have graphics cards capable of driving them. The T220 and T221 have the highest display resolution ever made, with an insane DPI of 204.9!! That's about the same as the DPI of the Toshiba Libretto U100 laptop, i.e. one would need to sit less than a foot from the screen to see anything!
I asked about this monitor back in October
in this thread and apparently only one forum member (James) had seen one in action.
At the bottom of the first page of
this thread, Troels found a photo showing a 30" Apple Cinema LCD and a T220/221 together.
