Availability on EPP Website

Hi All, I'm new here so hello to all.

I have access to EPP through a friend and was trying to buy a T60p off the EPP website. The model that I wanted was not on there so I tried getting the model number off the tabook and use it to go directly to the correct model, BUT most of the models off the tabook don't work on the EPP site. After some trial and error, I discovered that the ones that show up are ones with availability listed as Dec 06 onwards. The tabook however, doesn't have new model numbers for the T60p.

Any suggestions on what to do? I was thinking I could possibly get someone to tell me their model number of they've purchased the following in the last month or so:

T60p
14.1" SXGA+ Screen
Windows Vista Business
C2D T7400 or T7600 (2.16 or 2.33 GHz.)
2GB RAM
100GB 7200RPM HDD
ATI V5250 256MB Video
ANy wireless
Bluetooth
Fingerprint Reader

I think the first 5 items cover the model number, the rest I think I can customize in.

If this doesn't work, any other suggestions?

[update]: I am told that we are not to discuss EPP pricing on this forum. I was just trying to get a model number so I could at least find my model, not ask for a price here. If this is not allowed, please do let me know and I will remove the message. Thanks.

Thanks a ton.

EPP = Employee Pricing Program
tabook = list of thinkpad model numbers and specs

I don't have a solution for you, karan, but I did notice that a lot of models got taken off the EPP pages this past week. (All the 15.4" Z models I have been looking at disappeared over a two day span.) In the past I have seen this happen and then the models re-appeared in a few days. So you might hang in there and see what happens this week.

I have also noticed conflicting information here and over at notebookreview.com about the possibility of getting an EPP deal on almost any model via a phone order. So you might just try picking your model out of the tabook and calling. Even if it's not formally in the EPP the CSR may have enough latitude (heh heh, Dell joke) to give you a similar discount.

Good luck,
RA

Why don't you give EPP a call? That's how I got my Thinkpads.

They only ask the same info as the EPP website does, no extra questions, very friendly, they are happy to help even if you're just "Windows" shopping.

Hello to you, too, and welcome to the forum!

Here's what the Rules of the Road say about EPP discussion:

2. Do not post links, model availability, or pricing information from sites that restrict their purchasing to specific narrow groups (e.g. EPP [employee purchase] or specific Education sites). The members of these institutions can find their information through their employer or organization. Posting the links or information without prior permission from Lenovo/IBM is of questionable legality. Those that are entitled to these discounts have no problem finding the site directly from Lenovo/IBM, their employee friend, or their school bookstore.

While it's true that we slacked off enforcing it before the holidays when everyone and their dog had access to it, that is not the situation now. Locking thread.
