I've had my 15" T60 for 3 months, and for about 2 months now, I've been having a bit of an annoying problem: when I press down on the left side of the lid when the lid is shut, there is a loud creaking sound.
The left side of the lid doesn't fit properly with the base -- there's a gap between them that seems to be what causes the sound when I press down on the lid. On closer examination, I realized that there is a 1mm gap between the base and the metal hinge on the left side of the computer. I think this is the source of the problem, since there is no gap at all between the right hinge and the base.
What's strange is that sometimes there are periods for about a few days or weeks when the problem doesn't occur -- like the components are shifting around or something.
Does anybody else have this problem? Do you think I can get Lenovo to fix it? (I have the onsite repair warranty.)

Do you carry around your notebook alot? and have you ever dropped it?
In any case I would suggest to get in touch with lenovo to get it fixed.

I actually do carry it around with me every day. And although I haven't dropped it, I have thumped my backpack against doors and stuff on occasion. That's probably what caused this in the first place -- I should probably be more careful.ryengineer wrote:Do you carry around your notebook alot? and have you ever dropped it?
