regain access to recover partition?

#1 Post by MikeD » Mon Feb 12, 2007 1:25 pm

Hi there

I have a T60 wide that I have installed my own copy of MCE to try it out, and I'd rather use normal XP. So I tried the blue button on boot, but the menu that comes up doesn't have the recovery option in it.

I can see the hidden partition in disk management, so I know it's there...I just can't bet at it.

Is there a MBR trick or something I can do to re-enable access to this recovery partition?

The Master boot record repair kit may solve your problem.
You'll need a floppy drive to use it.

Thanks for the tip, but it didn't work. It requires something called "safeguard"...at least that's what the app said when I tried to run it.

Anyone else have any clues for me?

The link by steveg47 is the wrong one for what you want to do. You need the following:
