Turning V5250 into a x1600 with Radeon Drivers

Does anyone know how to load the regular Radeon drivers from ATI onto the T60p?

I think people use the Omega drivers to do that.

Would those drivers possibly fix the "flickering" problem that some T60p's have?

Odd, no flickering here.

I have a T60p and I don't notice any flickering on mine. I've heard the omega drivers won't install, though I haven't tried it myself. I have tried the approach on some rage3d site. That didn't work either. I then forced the drivers to install though the device driver manager by selecting the x1400 driver manually. Interestingly, it gave me a warning that the drivers dont match the hardware. I proceeded anyways with the install and they worked, although the ati control center won't start up anymore. I didn't notice any performance difference when playing CoH, though I didn't compare the actual framerates.
