T 60 Ext CDRW?
T 60 Ext CDRW?
My new T-60 does not have a RW cd drive.
Can some one suggest a good brand name for External CD / DVD Read/Write.
For one I need it to right away to make my recovery CDs.
thanks,
Vishal

I've great experience with LG, Samsung, NEC and Toshiba. I prefer you buy a DVD burner. Check ebay they got some great deals.vkul wrote:My new T-60 does not have a RW cd drive.

You could also replace the existing CD/DVD-ROM drive with an Ultrabay CD-RW or multiburner drive.vkul wrote:My new T-60 does not have a RW cd drive. Can some one suggest a good brand name for External CD / DVD Read/Write.

Yeah, portability is a problem. The only really portable solution I have found is the Lenovo external usb powered multi-burner (40Y8638)(no ac adapter necessary!). It's very pricey at >260$ from 3rd party vendors. If anyone knows of another external burner that is usb powered and sanely priced I'd sure like to know.SafeHarbor wrote:I also use a Sony external DVD-burner. I'm impressed that it can burn a single-side 4.7 GB DVD in 8 minutes. It's not the least bit portable, however. I leave it plugged into the a port replicator.
