Hi everyone, I just realized that my lcd no longer turns off when i close the lid (before it would turn off when the lid was about at a 30 degree angle before fully closing, now it doesnt), i remember before i did the "software installer" and "system update" to update things my screen no longer shuts down when i close my lcd.
i was wondering if anyone has noticed this
i am using a ThinkPad T60, windows xp pro

Are you running Vista? If not then which OS are you using?
In any case make sure your BIOS, ATI Graphics Drivers and Intel Chipset inf drivers are upto date. Moreover, check the settings in BIOS, power management in Windows and ATI's Catalyst Control Center.
Also you can do a system restore and go back to previous good known state.
I am sure someone more experienced from here will come up with a better solution in the meantime.

I assume you tried: Control Panel > Power Options > Advanced> "When Lid is Closed"> "Do nothing" or "Standby" is properly selected. My T60 Doesn't have a option to "Turn off Display", just "Standby" or "Do nothing".
