YEah.. that is it.. just upgraded to version 2.09.. and bingo.. somenthing got wrong.. And now I have a black brick in my desk.
No signal of life.. no lights.. nothing.
The only thing that power on is HD.. and DVD-rom?
Is there any strategy to upgrade bios. from a pendrive.. or a cdrom??
Thanks!

Not sure if the current T60 bios has boot block, if it does you might be able to boot with a crisis recovery disk ( phoenix crisis recovery disk) , then try flashing it again.
during the crisis recovery mode nothing might show up on the screen, but the floppy will be accessed.

Sounds like it is time to call Lenovo Tech support. They may have to change the motherboard

For mario:
did you set supervisor password, power password and HD password previously when you made the new bios update?

Thanks God.. no passwords.. no fingerprints.. nothing.
Just got in contact with Lenovo support.. but here in Brazil.. we are in Carnaval holidays.. so.. nothing works.
Wow... A light at the end of tunnel.

Niceeee.
Is there any docs from IBM/Lenovo about "phoenix crisis recovery disk"?
The Hp uses were able to reprogram their bios using that disk + boot block jumper on the parallel port .. so we dont have that old port
Am I wrong or t60 uses 2 bios rom´s.. one to computer other to EC?
Nothing to looosseee!
Im gonna try.. As soon as possible.. then I post the results.
Thanks!

The disk method works only when BIOS boot block is enabled and is not overridden.
Your first task should be to find out if the T60 has bios boot block, and if yes is it accessible and how. May be some experienced members will be able to throw some light on this....

Any Ideas how to enable bootblock mode in t60?

Just out of curiosity, isn't this sort of problem covered under warranty, even is the laptop has EasyServ warranty not the expensive Think Protection (bumper to bumper warranty against physical damage)?

Just send the t60 in for service. You're wasting your time with other approaches. They will not work.

This is the EXACT same problem as I have with my T61. Here:

mario_jr: Did you finally solved the problem?
I live in Poland, my warranty for 6465-CTO doesn't work here, as I bought my T61 when I was in the USA...
Crap.
So, any information on the boot block?
Or, please, does anybody know where the EEPROM for BIOS and Embedded Controller is? A friend has got a hardware flasher. Is there hope for this yet?

Hey Mario, sorry to hear about your troubles. Who said it would take 30 days, and where did you order it from? That's not a CRU part either, so the best thing really would be to send it in. Do you have international warranty, or U.S./Canada-based warranty?

Hi Crunch!
I ordered a new directly from Lenovo here in Brazil, it took about 30 days due to some issues inside lenovo( dont know why).
Yes, I have 3 yr intl warranty

( thanks God!)
One question, is your 4Gb of ram detected, or just 3Gb?
Thanks!

Nope. Only 3GB. This coming week, I'll install Vista 64-bit.

Let's see what happens.
