Does anyone have any recommendations with regards to these? Should I splurge and get the 3 Year Depot Upgrade with 3 Year ThinkPad Protection?

One part of me wants to save the $300 while the other half will regret not getting it when I destroy () the thing and have to fork over another +2500 for another laptop

I would get it, but it depends on how agressive you are with the laptop. If you can afford it, it's worth it. more than 3 years, and you'll have to dump the laptop when its still under warranty. Less, and it'll run out before you want to replace it.

I personally opted for the more expensive Thinkpad Protection Service for 3 years with onsite service for my 2007-66U thinking that for at least 3 years I won't have to worry about subjecting the expensive notebook to physical abuse. Although I am usually very careful with notebooks but accidents do happen; spills and drops. Another point is at least now I wont have to fork out money for another replacement laptop and hopefully won't need to upgrade within this time either.
