y do i have 74.5gb on my hdd when im meant to have 80gb?

ive got a t60 n im pretty sure that i should have a 80gb hdd but somehow i only have 74.5gb y is that?
can someone show me how i can get all 80gb (if it can b done)

That missing space on your HDD is in HPA.

80GB hard drives are in reality 74.5GB hard drives, if you count binary gigabytes.

80,000,000,000 bytes = 74.5GB.

Now, if you have taken that into consideration, and still have missing space, then it is indeed the hidden partition, designed to allow you to recover your notebook to factory settings.

yes....realize how hard drives are legally measured. It is in fact 80GB or measureed as 80GB because from 1GB is measured by manufacturer as 1000MB.

However, a computer measures 1GB as 1024MB.
