I just received my laptop, purchased in here:
http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... highlight=
and there is wear 4 marks across the monitor face, . When programming on a white screen, its pretty annoying:(
If the lcd is slighty damp, the wear marks dissapear, which makes me think the finish is worn off.
I am thinking about returning it or hunting around for new lcd for it. Anyone know anything about refinishing LCDs or replacing LCDs?
thanks.
Since i live in Canada, shipping it back is kind of a pain, as well another 100 in duty.
What do you guys think?
LCD refinishing?

Well, just a piece of advice "If you're buying something used, always ask questions about the condition of that item, if you don't it's not the fault of the seller"
As far as the lcd is concerned, it can be replaced, please check for compatibility before buying.

Before you replace the LCD, or buy another laptop take a look at these.

They may or may not resolve your issues, but the cost to refinish/repolarize is about $100 plus shipping. You might want to contact them and send photos first to see if they will commit to being able to fix it.
If they can, you'll save a lot of cash
