Has anyone had any success with getting Virtual PC 2007 to work with hardware virtualization on Windows XP SP2 on a T60P.
I have it turned on in BIOS and the bios is running 2.09 but VPC2007 does not recognize it in hardware.
There was a thread on this on at -

But no luck.....

I briefly had VPC 2007 running on my T60 WS I found that with VT it was crazy slow. I use VMware server and I think that it is a lot faster. I would also recommend using linux as your host OS and use VMware or VirtualBox. If you must use Win XP, I would try Virtual Server 2005 R2.
Good luck,
Scott

I solved my own problem by a complete re-install of Windows XP. MS Virtual PC now has hardware virtualization as an option. No drivers needed. I suspect something low level like HAL is the issue but I am unsure.
Speed is something I am looking at, at present. As a past VMware Workstation user I am familiar with the speed I was getting.
So far, subjectively, Virtual PC 2007 speed seems to be pretty good.
Virtual Server 2005 and VM Server are pretty big installs to be having on a client - IIS installation is annoying.

As a side note Z61P of similar confguration to the T60P does not get this option in BIOS. Tried it today.
Something to consider if given the option between a T60P and a Z61P there appears to be no hardware virtualization on Z61P.
