Lengthy Shutdown?

#1 Post by acaurora » Tue Feb 27, 2007 3:14 am

I just bought a T60 Widescreen and after applying updates through Windows UPdate and Lenovo Update, my brand new laptop is taking nearly a minute from the time I hit 'Shut Down' before it actually starts shutting down, as in ending processes and tasks. I have done nearly everything in terms of common online solutions, with the registry hacks to not wait so long to end processes and tasks to just the cmd -> shutdown -f -t 0 option. Does anyone know how to fix this other than just reformatting and restoring the laptop?

acaurora: I had a similar Shutdown Delay although it may not be related to your problem. I disabled many (Non Microsoft) processes in msconfig. I found that "Access Connections Main Service" must not be disabled. When I disabled it, I experienced a similar long shutdown.
