T60p w/Atheros terrible range

I have a t60p widescreen with the Atheros card, the WIFI reception is terrible, I have to bring along my X41 tablet (at hotels) so I can use the internet. I updated all the drivers, uninstalled/reinstalled etc and its still terrible in terms of range. The X41's range is at least 1/3 more than my T60p's. I read on this forum and others that the Atheros is way better than the intel card but the Intel 2200bg card I have in my X41 seems to have a lot more range than my Atheros card.

PS: I disabled power management etc still no dice....These bugs are getting annoying.

You probaly have this covered already or its N/A, but lenovo does have a new driver for vista os/n card machines as of 02/09 for those who migrated to vista.
