I've had my T60p 2613CTO for a little over a month now, and I feel like my eyes are having a difficult time adjusting to the screen; I don't know if it's due to the brightness, resolution-- which is higher than that on the screen I use at work, and of my previous laptop-- or to the slight grain/"sparkle" effect in the LCD coating; but I find after spending hours reading or writing that I sometimes feel almost slightly dizzy;

I'm curious if others have found settings/adjustments--either with just brightness/contrast or other advanced ATI software settings-- that make the screen generally more comfortable for viewing, i.e. adjustments beyond the default settings;

The display can take come getting used to. Its a good idea to take frequent breaks from reading the monitor. Shift your focus to something far away every 15 minutes or so, so that your eyes aren't constantly focusing on something close.

i noticed that a bit myself. i find that dropping the brightness down one notch helps alot. much easier on my eyes especially if i'm looking back and forth between some books or papers on my desk and back to the computer. at first the bright display was great, now it's a bit much. plus it keeps the extra notch of brightness on hand for when i might actually need it.

You'll probably adjust to it after a few more weeks, automatically, without changing any settings. I felt exactly the same way (dizzy) when I first started using my 15.4" Dell Inspiron 6000, whose resolution (1920x1200) and DPI are even higher than your T60p. I have been using it for four months and now I no longer have any problems. In fact, I have even changed Internet Explorer's text size from "medium" to "smaller" so that I can view four web browsers simultaneously!

thanks for the input; I suppose my main problem is that I just haven't used it consistently enough yet; depending on my work schedule, some days I use the laptop heavily, and other days not at all; knocking the brightness down a notch does seem to help with extensive reading....

I thought it was just me. I have been having a very difficult time reading text on my new T60p which has a 15" svga+ flexview screen. Its to a point where I now find myself using the X31 more. Even though it only has a 12.1" screen, I find it much easier to view. So far I have tried using the Microsoft True Font tuning program but did not find it helped any. I am now wondering if this issue is with the screen itself.

Any ideas what I could try to fix this problem? Have noticed backlighting issues neear the bottum of the screen. Should I be talking to Lenovo about having this screen replaced.

Would appreciate hearing if anyone else is having difficulty reading text on the 15" svga+ flexview screen?
