Bios Clock stopped working

#1 Post by killigrew » Tue Mar 06, 2007 4:01 pm

Hi

I have a little Problem with my Bios Clock
it doesn't work anymore, the time only changes if its directly changed in the Bios or updated by Windows.
every time I start windows the clock is set to the last time it was updated.
Das anybody know why?
Don't think its an empty Bios Baterie because the Notebook is just a few month's old.

cu :)

Are you plugged into AC, or on battery?

First, I would go into your BIOS and disable "fast boot". This will cause a detailed POST hardware scan to run when you power on. You may be able to see a 0270 Real-time clock error.

Next, I would try updating your BIOS.

Finally, check the backup battery. It may have failed or come unplugged.
Apathy is on the rise, but nobody seems to care.

Hi

The clock does not work no matter if i am on AC or Battery.
I have updated the Bios to 2.09 but still the clock does not work.
I started with diagnostic boot enabled but it did not show any errors or they apeared to short.
I phoned IBM but they also don't know anything about it,
they also advised me to first update the bios.

If i find the time i will check the voltage of the batterie.

cu & thx :)
