T60 vs T60p / external lcd

hello
i'm about to order t60 or t60p with 15'' flexview(1400x1050) display.
i spent a lot of time surfing and trying out notebooks and finally decided to go with thinkpad t60(p)
the only concern left is connecting it with external lcd. the screen i have now is 1600x1200(crt) so that will be smooth, but i plan to buy a decent enough 23/24'' wide lcd.
i read that there are no more problems connecting t60(x1400) via dvi(port replicator) but i dont know what's the situation with ati fire gl 5250 that goes with t60p. can it display 1900x1200 resolution without much tweaking?
thanks

see my post on this forum:

I have T60p with 24" external NEC monitor and it has refresh and performance problems with almost any application, but more so with obviously more graphic intense apps.
Works fine on native display and smaller external monitor. But seems like mobile doesn't have "Horse-power" for combination of intense graphics + large display.
Tweaked everything from display settings, monitor drivers, GPU drivers, application options and no solution. Will try a couple of more things and post results here.

I have a T60P and use a DEll 24 inch as my main with native and a Dell 20 inch as my secondary. It seems to work great.

If you use a dock here is my advice. I have had 15" Thinkpads for years. I use with dock at home and work. travel every 2 weeks and just use the laptop. My new T60P is a 14inch. It is sooooo much more convenient. The screen is ok not great but then my T43P screen killed the battery. Get the 14 inch iwth the top of line video card. just my 2 cents.

did anyone have tried a FULL-HD-Movie on his external WUXGA-Monitor with a T60p?
via external blu-ray-drive or on local hdd?
does the firegl have enough "horse power" for this?
