T60 with XP bluescreens if fingerprint software is enabled

T60 2623KEU with 2GB RAM, two 100GB SATA drives (using ultra bay), and a PCMCIA verizon card.

Anyone seen this? I've done two subsequent installs; first I installed in compatibility mode, then I installed with an nlite XPSP2 disk including the Intel Storage Matrix drivers. In both installs I've installed the Lenovo drivers via Software Update and updated the system's security patches. I'm not installing CSS or R&R, just Access Connections, Power Management, and the Fingerprint reader. Activating the fingerprint software causes this BSOD error:

STOP: C000021a {Fatal System Error}
Windows Logon Process terminated

The crash is not immediate, it seems to be linked to heavy load (but I use this laptop very heavily, with four VMWare sessions). I can't go more than a few hours without a crash, but removing the fingerprint software allows the machine to work properly.

I've searched the web and found this error is caused by poorly coded GINA replacements, but I've never had a problem with the fingerprint software before (using my trusty T43, which I may well switch back to when its motherboard gets fixed).

Any help would be greatly appreciated... thanks in advance,

More Info: Turns out it crashes without the fingerprint software too, and even with the stock prebuild, just less frequently. Sounds like bad RAM, Lenovo is taking it back for a closer look. Hopefully they'll have something for me in a week or two.
