Probably one of the best laptop reviews I have read on the internet - very detailed and very logical. This one is a must read.
Now: T60 2613-EKU | T23 2647-9NU | 600X 2645-9FU | HP 100LX
Past: X31 2673-Y13 | T41 2374-3HU | T22 2647-AEU

Rules of the road :thumbs-UP:

Too bad he didn't take a photo of the wide T60 and the Dell 300m together. It would be fun to see the contrast in size!
Microsoft Surface 3 (Atom x7-Z8700 / 4GB / 128GB / LTE)
Dell OptiPlex 9010 SFF (Core i3-3220 / 8GB / 8TB); HP 8300 Elite minitower (Core i7-3770 / 16GB / 9.25TB)
Acer T272HUL; Crossover 404K; Dell 3008WFP, U2715H, U2711, P2416D; Monoprice 10734; QNIX QHD2410R; Seiki Pro SM40UNP

Good review. I have to whole-heartedly agree with the FN/CTRL key issue. It's driving me nuts.

I don't understand why everyone harps on the "missing" ports in the T60 though - you can connect just about anything through the ExpressCard slot. They even have ExpressCard docking stations now...

Interestingly, I have exact same machine with exact same specs, infact the model is same too. But the only difference is I paid 200 bucks extra.

The author of that article is a grad student (who, incidentally, appears to be proud of being a scientist). He probably got some educational discount.

Nope, I got that same deal from CostCentral, and I saw it on buy.com too.

Oh, that's right. I think that guy mentioned that he had bought it from buy.com.

It's been often stated before, but bears repeating. Any Forum members who are currently students at the university level or higher owe it to yourselves to check with your school's bookstore or IT department before purchasing a Thinkpad. You can also check prices for your individual schools by starting here.

Same goes for faculty, alumni, etc., etc. Not always the lowest prices, but certainly worth checking before making a purchase decision.
