Which DVD format to use with T60?

Is there any preferred format to use for burning files to a DVD? I just want to copy some information and send it to someone and wasn't sure if there was a difference between DVD-R and DVD-RW for this purpose.

DVD-RW (more expensive) is rewritable and DVD-R (less expensive) can't be.

The + formats generally format faster and are slightly less compatible with older read-only drives, depending on model.
