My replacement battery doesn't wiggle!
So I had my 9-cell battery recalled... I received my replacement today, and it hardly wiggles at all. (Still a little, but it's barely noticeable.)

Same here. The battery was delivered this morning.CarrerCrytharis wrote:So I had my 9-cell battery recalled... I received my replacement today, and it hardly wiggles at all. (Still a little, but it's barely noticeable.)
Secure, tight fit.

If it is not the model which had been recalled, you will not recieve a new battery from the recall process...blueblood wrote:i got a new t60p today,
the battery is a sanyo manufactured 2007-02-12
it wiggles considerably
what can i do about it?
If that is the case, you can always call support line about it, not sure if they will do anything about it though.

Got my tonight, it is a Panasonic. Manufactured February 8, 2007, 0 cycle. Most important, not wiggle!
I find 2 labels inside box, one is UPS label, but no more instruction. Do I just put the old battery in, put the UPS return label, and drop at any UPS carrier?

If you only use the smaller internal box to ship it, just put the label on the outside and drop it in your local UPS drop box. That's what I did.riverwater wrote:Do I just put the old battery in, put the UPS return label, and drop at any UPS carrier?

are they asking for the old batteries back?
A classmate of mine had his Z61's battery recalled, and he junked the old battery since he had a spare, and they said it'd be 8 weeks for a replacement.
I know that in the past, for Dell at least, they asked for the old battery back. I'm curious what repercussions might come about from his throwing the battery away.
Luckily my T60WS came with a Panasonic, so I lucked out...but it wiggles more than my T43's battery did.

No, unless there's some way to track the returns by means of the enclosed UPS shipping label, which I doubt.mybellyisempty wrote:are they asking for the old batteries back?
I sent mine back straightaway. I don't want it hanging around and finding out the hard way that they can explode without having been dropped.

I only find 2 labels and one order sheet in my box, no instruction on how should I send back the old battery. But one label is UPS shipping label with Lenovo as the receiver. So I think it mean I put the old battery in the box, and affix the new label and mail it back.

As I said above; yes, pack your old battery in the box or boxes that the new one came in and send it back via UPS (not mail) using the label that is in the box. Won't cost you anything and you can drop it off at a UPS store, give it to your UPS driver or put it in a UPS drop box.riverwater wrote:So I think it mean I put the old battery in the box, and affix the new label and mail it back.
The thing that looks like a second label in the box is what's called a "pull tag" for use in the parts warehouse to track and ship the battery to you. You can safely throw it away.

Thanks, I will send it back tomorrow. I just checked my recalled battery, I only use 6 cycles in the past 8 months.
