New t Series with full Dual Link DVI-D coming?

#1 Post by biinkbok » Wed Mar 14, 2007 11:41 pm

I have a 30" monitor that I drive off an ATI X1300 card in the advanced dock.

Love the monitor, hate the dock. Loud fans, and inabilty to undock b/c video card is installed make it less than desirable, but the only solution for a 30" DVI connected monitor.

Does Lenovo plan to come out with a notebook and a dock that support Dual Link DVD-D directly so no additional card is needed?

A mini dock (no fans) would be wonderful.

The MacBook does it fine so why no Lenovo? :)

I seriously hope so. I use my T60p as a graphics workstation w/ a 23" LCD (via a mini-dock,) but I'd love to have a 30" Cinema Display hooked up directly..

(For clarity's sake..)
As the x1300 (etc.) natively support DVI-D, I'm assuming you mean Dual-Link DVI-D (required for resolutions above 2048x1536.)

The new T61 doesnt have a DVI out, does it?

Good to know we have something useful like firewire instead  I guess profit margins would be smaller if the people had no reason to purchase an additional dock.

From the notebook review article of the T61 it doesn't seem like it will have DVI at all. I am not sure of the T61p will or not.

I would be happy with a mini-dock with dual link DVI.

No DVI on the T61.
Now: T60 2613-EKU | T23 2647-9NU | 600X 2645-9FU | HP 100LX
Past: X31 2673-Y13 | T41 2374-3HU | T22 2647-AEU

Is there any new dock planned? I would love a mini-dock that does dual-link DVI!
