max resolution of t60p

on VGA, what's the max resoution the fire gl v5250 can handle?
T60p 2613CTO T7200 14" SXGA 6-Cell

I believe the maximum resolution supported via the VGA port is 2048x1536 @ 60, 66, 70, or 75 Hz. Higher than that requires a dual-link DVI capable display card (and an Advanced Dock for it to call home.)

Do you need an external graphics card to use the DVI port in the advanced dock?

No, I believe it has a DVI-D port independent of additional cards. (I only have the advanced mini-dock, search ibm's support site for more info.)

The PCIe slot is for any half-height pci-e card, including video cards.
