Fan running constantly

I am currently running Outlook 2003, Opera with 4-5 sites open, SnagIT and Skype (in addition to antivirus, FW) and working on a WiFi connection. My fan is running contantly. Is this normal on a system like mine (see sig)? In fact, I cannot remember it ever turning off. This did not change when I installed another GB RAM. According to task manager, CPU usage is between 1 and 4%.

Any ideas what triggers the fan?

What power settings are you running it at? My fan runs most of the time, but it is barely audible..

I tried both TP Default and Maximum Performance, but that does not seem to make any difference.

Have you installed Shimodax\'s fan control utility? And pls report back your temperature.

Well, TP default generally runs on max settings whilst running on the adapter.

Try max battery? Or Timers off, usually works for me :) Then it's the harddrive that begins to annoy me :)
