T60 flexview display sparkling

I hope someone here can help me. I have just received my T60 with 15" SXGA+ flexview display from LG-Phillips. I noticed right away a strange "sparkling" or noise on the display , most obvious in white or light areas. I have researched this issue a bit, and I can see that many others with this LG-Phillips IPS display suffer the same as me. I can not use this display, as it gives me headache
A real shame since I like the display for its clarity and colors (very accurate colors - I am a photographer too).
My question is now if the old UXGA 1600x1200 Boe-hydis display found on the T60p is guaranteed to not have this sparkle effect. I can buy a second hand T60p with this display but I cannot see it before I buy and I cannot return the machine, so I would like to be sure before I buy.

hello san,
just to be sure, what is your color depth setting?
changing from 16 to 32bit improves the sparkling much
i had the same initial reaction with my LG-phillips panel, changed the color depth and it's MUCH better.
thanks,
Jkahng

I am using 32 bit. I examined the issue tonight, after using a friends Packard Bell, that actually had some sort of "static noise" in the whites.. the "sparkling" I see on my Thinkpad is appearently related to the coating on the display. When I shine a flashlight onto the screen in an extreme angle, say about 170 degrees I can actually see what looks like tiny tiny "crystals" that sparkles like little diamonds on the display surface.

I use a 2623DDU with the 15" Hydis IPS/FV Display. I have seen no evidence of the phenomenon that you are experiencing.
IMO the loss of this display supplier and their application of the technology has been a big loss to IBM/Lenovo product offerings and differentiation.

Thanks Scratch. I just got the T60p with BOE hydis UXGA IPS this morning, and it is fantastic. No sparkling like the LG phillips , better contrast, brighter and needless to say higher resolution. I will not be looking back

Hi San
Glad you got a better display on the T60p. Which model number did you get? Did you purchase new or used? If it was purchased new and you don't mind saying where I'd appreciate it. I've got a 2623DDU with a great display and thinking of getting another T60p before they all wind up with the "sparlkers". Thanks for any advice.
