Major Bluetooth problems.. help please.

I have a T60p (model 2007-93U) running Windows XP Sp2 (all updates).

I just installed Windows from scratch and I installed the ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate firmware and also installed the drive software.

The device manager shows that the Bluetooth driver is installed and is using driver Broadcom 8/17/2006 version 5.1.0.2100.

But when I click on the icon in the tray its says "Bluetooth Device not found"..

WTF?

Anyways, I uninstalled the drivers and tried again. Same thing.

I am totally at a loss and any help would be great.

Is the device powered on either with FN F5 or the switch on the front?

Yes.. of course.

I have read all the threads here about bluetooth issues and none seem to apply to me.

Sorry.... No Help Here.....

but I have the same issue --starting two days ago.... after running a software/driver update on my 2007-94U, XP Pro -up-to-date..... Including all the bluetooth, but the bios as well

And I tried the same things.... Uninstall, reinstall....

I boot, and the "msi/new hardware found" process starts running.... it looks for "hands free bluetooth"... (I dunno why) and it ' can't find it ,OR load my bluetooth mouse.....(although it recognizes it as always)

Never a problem like this before, it's Weird

I have some time tomorrow, so I'll call Atlanta and see if I can get an answer.... I'll post what I learn

Other than that, I hope my recent disk image is good....
