Looks like I need the reg keys for Power Manager to get my power schemes back. Would somebody copy theirs from their t60 and email them to me (click the email me button)?

Here are the instructions:
Log on as Administrator. Go to Start > Run, type regedt32 in the text box and click OK. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\PowerCfg. Click on File > Export and type in a name such as PowerCfg, and click Save. Pay attention to where the file is saved to. Go there and copy...
Thanks

I resolved my issue! Thanks so much for the registry file. I compared the registry file that was sent, to my current one.

Here is what I did to fix the my problem of no power schemes:

1. I made a backup of my "powercfg" key and opened it with a text editor and opened a working "powercfg" key that was emailed to me. For some reason, there were about 240 duplicate keys that consisted mainly of Maximum Battery, Maximum Performance, and Timers off. They looked like this:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\PowerCfg\PowerPolicies\1]
2. I uninstalled power manager with add/remove programs.

3. Then I went into regedit to "Power Policies" and deleted all 240 some duplicates one at a time. Saving only keys numbered 1-13 (those weren't duplicates).

4. I then reinstalled power manager through system update. Then rebooted.

5. After reboot, I tryed the Fn+F3 key, only to get this error (which was the original error I got right when the problem started:

6. I then opened up regedit and went back to "power policies". I noticed 5-10 duplicate keys again starting around 250 or so. I deleted these duplicates and then I...

7. deleted all the keys that were related to windows power management AND intervideo DVD player. ONLY keep data that has "TPPWRMGR" in it.

8. I pressed the FN+F3 key and I had my good old power schemes back and no error!

You porbably can follow step 7 and 8 if you are having this problem and it should work.

I'm just glad it is working again!

Any one know why all this happened in the first place?

its easier to simply create a new windows login profile. You should now be able to change the power profiles. Now simply export the required registry keys and save to disk. Now return to your original windows profile and replace the power profiles in the registry with the backed up ones. Make sure you delete all the profiles in the original windows profile before restoring with the new ones. Worked for me.
