Just as it says; IBM's site doesn't have it listed...

Anyone know if you can just replace a abg with a n from ibm as an example?

This may be wrong but I heard that you have to buy it with it pre-installed, as it needs two aerials as opposed to the standard one. As I say, I could be remembering wrongly.

I think it's 3 antennae rather than 2; and I already pulled an internal antennae out of another system that I can route on the inside of my system. Plus, people have already said that they have 802.11N systems that run on just 2 antennae rather than 3.

I stand corrected. What frequency is draft N 2.4Ghz?

What I have learned about lenovo N and the 3rd ant etc...

1) if you order lenovo with N wireless - comes with 3rd ant
2) If not, you can search LCD parts for 3rd ant and order it as FRU
3) The N card should also be easy to order and install - snaps into Motherboard or consider getting 3rd party N wireless card USB or PCMCIA
4) The # of antennas as I understand it has to do with signal quality. The more antennnas the better. If you don't have a lot of noise where you use wireless lan, you should be able to run an internal N card or ext 3rd party N wireless card on only two antennas(default lenova wireless lan a/b/g).

That said, I have the internal lenovo wireless N and belkin N1 router. My connection is super fast, but I am also very close to router - within 10 feet.

I wondered if I would notice any improvements over 54g or a toshiba rental with super G/mimo that ran at 108mbps - Yes - I can tell the difference with the N combo so I know I am getting at least faster than 108mbps I was getting on Toshiba SuperG.

My status indicators all say connection speed 300mbps, but from all the reviews and posts - it does not sound like any of the n routers are performing at 300mbps - all I know is this is fast and I have no patience for slowness. FYI: Using AC to manage.

Fast as in high throughput or short delay?

Are you asking what the meter reads(the metrics on actual throughput ex: 120mbps) and delay as in time to load a page, time to see content)

Maybe Define?

I would think he'd mean throughput, as the slowest link on your internet chain is going to be somewhere else, unless you're on dialup. Typically your connection to the ISP.

well,

Its all relative it seems.

All the same factors apply to my own experience of "faster" whether its 54g, 108 or higher connection. That is, my constant is using the same ISP connection, visiting the same websites, same times of day etc...

So, relatively speaking, (all variables being equal) - Its faster. The most noticable element is page access and load times. I'll try to get actual performance numbers over the next few weeks.
