Docking/Undocking switches main display to 1024x68

T60p running Vista, 14" running native 1400x1050, Advanced Mini Dock.

When I dock, or undock, not always consistently, the main LCD switches to 1024x768 and I have to manually switch back (using Windows' Display Settings) to 1400x1050. This is fairly annoying, since it's almost every time I dock/undock.

Known issue? Just me? I would like it to remain fixed on 1400x1050.

FYI the dock's DVI port is unconnected. Its VGA port is connected to a VGA switch box. I will try disconnecting that to see if it affects things, but that is not my ideal.

Thanks for any ideas,
Stewart.

You can set the presentation director to automatically apply a scheme when the laptop is undocked - I am at work right now, but it is fairly simple to look around the options in presentation manger and set this ... I'll go home and post the details if you want later today.

Thanks gator -- unfortunately when I try to run Presentation Director, I get Error: OEMDSPIF.DLL cannot be loaded.

I therefore assume(d) it was just like the non-functional Device Configuration/Select Display Settings, and not available on the T60p running Vista.

This happens to me too when I dock with the lid closed. Really annoying. I do use Presentation Director to get things back where I want them. But it, too, switches to 1024x768 before putting everything right. This screws up my windows placements. I don't know why it has to switch to 1024x768 all the time.

Intersting thread. I too am running a T60WS with Vista. I don't know if this is just me or others have the same problem, but when I run presentation director, the option to have a certain scheme load when I dock the machine is grayed out. I can't seem to get it to activate. Is Vista somehow overriding this option?

This is definitely a known issue experienced every day by many of us. I have not seen Lenovo fix, or even acknowledge the problem however. See this topic for more:

I remember that this problem started on my T60 after a recent Presentation Directory upgrade. Unfortunately, I don't remember the version I used before. However, it must be from around February 2007.

Previously I wasn't hit by this issue, i.e. I docked and it perfectly switched to my external DVI display with 1680x1050 without going down to 1024 in between. But now it gets stuck in 1024 whenever I dock or undock. :(
