T60p WS vs. T60 WS

The 87445BU (15.4" WS) is described as T60 while the 8744J2U (also 15.4 WS) is described as T60p.
Does the suffix of "p" for the 8744J2U have anything to do with the type or quality of the 15.4? WS as compared to the 87445BU? i.e. Does the 8744J2U come with a better LCD? And if so could someone please provide a reference URL of some sort.

I actually have both these models sitting in my apartment right now. The only difference is that the 5BU is still in its box, waiting to go back to IBM.
I believe the main differences are the OS, the videocard, the battery, the hard drive and the wifi adapter (the videocard and the hard drive being what makes it a "p" model). AFAIK, the type of LCD is the same luck of the draw as with other 15.4" models.
I actually checked the parts lookup for both serial numbers and they're both the Samsung LCD.

Perhaps the "p" stands for Performance? (faster hard drive and more video memory)

Yeah, that seems plausible. The way I understand it, the "p" models traditionally were the top of the line Thinkpad for a given product line, but I think around the time of the T40 series, it began to denote the models with a workstation-class graphics card. So the J2U is still a p model, even though it doesn't have the fastest possible processor.
But I could very well be mistaken about this, and hopefully someone will correct me.

I always though of the -P moniker standing for Professional.
The only difference between a T60 and T60P, or T4x and T4x P, etc. is the use of the FireGL graphics rather than standard Radeon, for professional graphics needs. Previously, the -P series was also offered in UXGA Flexview, but now that that option is off the table, the videocard is the only appreciable difference.
I have a T60 Widescreen (8742-4BU) which has XP Pro instead of Vista (although my replacement CD should be here today) and 1gb of RAM rather than 2. Otherwise, it's identical to the T60P you mentioned in all ways except graphics.
