Out of control Touchpad Scroll

Alright, I am new to Thinkpad's and this is my 1st post/ question here. So if its too elementary for you veterans, please forgive me.

Coming to the point - I got my brand new T-60 Widescreen a couple of weeks ago. I am not a big fan of the trackpoint - so I use the touchpad a lot.

But whenever I scroll using the edges of the touchpad and stop to read something on a long page, the page uncontrollably starts to scroll in the direction of the previous scroll until it hits bottom (or top)

It over rides any input from the Up/ Down buttons, Pg UP - Pg Down buttons and keeps bull headedly trying to scroll further and flickers the screen.

The only way I can release this is by clicking the left mouse button or trying to use the Trackpoint. (and start all over again trying to regain my thoughts and go back to reading where I was interrupted)

Can I just get the touchpad scroll to move the page and stop where I want it to, without going into a frenzy and scrolling uncontrollably?

Thanks

I have the same problem. I have the latest BIOS and all the latest updates (Vista).

I've started using the TrackPoint more and more, but I don't really like it.

Control Panel/Mouse/Mouse Properties/UltraNav/Settings/Virtual Scrolling/Long Distance Scrolling Enables or Disables "Coasting"
