T60 display...

#1 Post by Slartibartfas » Wed Mar 28, 2007 4:30 am

Hi there!
I think about getting a T60 (one of the 15.4" Widescreen or the 14.1") and wonder if the Display is bright enough to work outside, sitting in a park. Is working in the sunlight possible or do I have to seek shadows?

thx for your insights

In direct sunlight, I have found mine to be almost useless (but then again this can apply to any laptop I have owned). In the shade it is fine, or as long as the sun isn't hitting the screen directly, I haven't had too many problems.

The T60 screen isn't bright enough to be used under direct sunlight comfortably. The only Thinkpad that's bright enough is the X60s with an Ultralight LCD. Panasonic and Dell also have some laptops with very bright LCDs but they are quite heavy.
Microsoft Surface 3 (Atom x7-Z8700 / 4GB / 128GB / LTE)
Dell OptiPlex 9010 SFF (Core i3-3220 / 8GB / 8TB); HP 8300 Elite minitower (Core i7-3770 / 16GB / 9.25TB)
Acer T272HUL; Crossover 404K; Dell 3008WFP, U2715H, U2711, P2416D; Monoprice 10734; QNIX QHD2410R; Seiki Pro SM40UNP
