Hi there everyone, really simple question, i'm looking to sell my X41 and upgrade to a T60 (T2400), but i was wondering if it was 64 bit?

I've looked around, and this is the most i could find out:
"Intel 64 (Intel's x86-64 implementation) is not supported by Yonah" - wiki

I've heard that the Merom's are definatley 64 Bit, but still unsure about Yonah.

Many thanks.

yonahs (Core Duo) are 32bit
meroms (Core 2 Duo) are 64bit

you can upgrade your yonah to a merom on the t60 w/ rev.3 or later motherboard and 2.0 or later bios...

or better yet, buy a t60 with core 2 duo instead of core duo.
you should look at the L2 cache as only core 2 duo 2.0 or higher has the 4mb vs 2mb on 1.66 and 1.83 versions.

fyi, i'm waiting for price drops in merom chips to upgrade my Z61m...

hope this helps

T5500 and T5600 are Merom too (64 bit) but have only a 2Mb cache.
