Linux on the T60p

#1 Post by m_a_b » Mon Apr 02, 2007 8:13 pm

I have a T60p 2613-CTO with the fingerprint reader built in. I have tried to boot up in Linux using the Ubuntu 6.10 CD, but it hangs 4 out of 5 times. I got it to boot once by swiping my finger at a point that it usually hangs. I was wondering if anyone has been able to work around this? I tried disabling the fingerprint reader and it seems that you can't, or at least I can't figure out how, to get the thing to not work... I even tried disabling it from the bios and it still asked for my fingerprint when I booted to windows.

Any help?

Thinkwiki is always a great source for these Linux on Thinkpad questions. http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Integrate ... int_Reader

There is some driver apparently. Hope that helps, if not read around, there's bound to be other people frustrated with not being able to use the fingerprint reader under Linux.
