LCD replacement/upgrade

Hello all,
I recently ordered a T60p widescreen (ATI FireGL 5250 256MB WSXGA+) which shipped yesterday. I am toying with the idea of replacing (in future) the LCD with a WUXGA model 13N7198 (perhaps might also need the inverter board).
My question to fellow Thinkpad afficionados: will this be as simple as a swap? Or is there more to it? I know the WSXGA+ models are IPS but can't tell if the 13N7198 is IPS as well. For that matter, what is IPS?
Thank you in advance.

AFAIK there is no widescreen IPS panel available for Thinkpads at all so far.
The only IPS panels available for Thinkpads are the 15" SXGA+/UXGA FlexViews and the 12" X60TabletPC panel, thus all of them are of 4:3 aspect ratio. - All other TFT panels available for Thinkpads (beside the previous mentioned ones) are not IPS panels.

Sorry for nitpicking, but the 12" IPS was also on the X41 Tablet. Also, the X60 Tablet has two versions of 12" IPS - XGA and SXGA+.

thanks for responding. If I were to swap the wsxga+ panel with wuxga, is the new panel automatically detected - in order to change the screen resolution in display properties?
Currently, the max resolution offered in display properties is 1680x1040.
I wondered if the screen resolution value is hard coded somewhere in the BIOS.

I received several quotes for 15 and 14.1 sxga + models which also offer Flexview.
I am not saying that you are wrong but I am hoping that you are.
The machine that I am looking at is a 14.1 SXGA + with the T7400 processor.
Please correct me if this is inaccurate information.

He is not wrong. There never was a 14.1" Flexview. There have been quite a few wrong advertisements for it over the years, but they are all mistakes.
