hi --
is there any way to trigger the volume via the onscreen display using a key combination on an external keyboard? For instance, i want to use Alt-F12 for volume up, and Alt-F11 for volume down. Can i make these behave like the up and down buttons on the real keyboard?
thanks!

The problem is that there are really TWO volume levels on the Thinkpad:
1. The "Thinkpad" volume, controlled by the buttons over the keyboard
2. The "Windows" volume, controlled by the external keyboard buttons or the volume icon in the traybar.
You can poke around the Keyboard Customizer utility and you might be able to get what you want.

Apathy is on the rise, but nobody seems to care.
