Master Volume "tone control" not functional ?

#1 Post by Turboqueef » Sat Apr 07, 2007 4:59 pm

Good day,

I would like to know if anyone has figured out why the tone controls in the master volume don't work with the T60. I can't believe the sound card does not support this function.

Another problem I am experiencing has to do with the HD audio drivers. The software installer program keeps telling me that I must install two MS XP SP2 High Definition Audio Driver Packages, they both download (it seems) but they won't install. I get a message indicating the files can't be located. I wonder if this is related to my missing tone control.

Thanks for any feedback you may provide.

The audio files are a set that also includes the modem audio. If you can't install it I suggest you call tech support and have them help you through the process. There can be some tricks involved if you don't download exactly what you need and you don't do the operations in the specified order.

But also consider this: How did you lose them in the first place? You may have inadvertently disabled something they need.

Thanks for the feedback... I just updated all of the modem drivers and still have the problem. I may need to call tech support to resolve it...

To be honest, I can't remember if the tone controls ever worked. I don't do a lot of audio stuff with the T60, just had the desire to tweak them yesterday when I noticed they were not available.

Thanks again for the info...

If by "tone control" you mean bass/treble they are not operative on this chipset.
