Fn+F3 does not work

I frequnly start some simulation, turn off my monitor and go do some other work. Sometimes I do this on battery and I really loved using the Fn-F3 feature to save battery life. But today, I could not switch off the T60 display using Fn+f3. The "turning off your monitor" dialog comes on ... and nothing happens. I tried everything I could - anyone knows why this is happening and/or any tips towards solution?

This usually happens to me under Linux but with Windows, I am not sure why you're experiencing such a behavior.

Anyways here is a link to get latest Power management drivers, make sure you have them as they're released to fix such problems:

I have the latest drivers ... infact I think updating to the latest version may have caused this.

Oops, disregard this, I see your problem is that the function doesn't work, it's not as simple as my answer

In the Power Manager menu there is a button at the bottom that allows you to set the fn+f3 function from a choice of powering off the monitor or choosing power options.

Perhaps this was set inadvertantly or during your updates?

Patrick, that is not the issue. As I said, I have checked everything I normally would.

Fn-F3 still shows the "turing off monitor" dialog, but nothing happens after that - meaning, the screen stays on.

Any luck fixing this? Same problem here.
