No.

Hi!

I decided to try my hand at making a Frankenpad.
Right now I have a LG.Philips LP150E05-A2K1, which has a small defect in the form of a halo and low brightness.
But I also have two other displays:
1. IDTech N150P3-L01 (from Thinkpad T43) - backlight comes on, but no image.
2. IDTech IAUX14 (from Thinkpad A31p) - not sure if the backlight turns on, no image.

Is this behavior normal?
Are they compatible with Frankenpad (T61 mobo)?
Maybe need to flash the EDID?
I would be very grateful for help

Hi rupert,

Sorry to hear about the shape of your rare flexview panel

Sounds like this is normal behaviour, your other panels lack an on-board EDID chip which the T60/61 requires to display an image. Unless you know how to solder on an EDID chip (I don't have a clue where to start with that) you'll have to find another replacement.

I pulled an N150U3-L01 (1600x1200) with a manufacturing date of 2005 Week 31 out of a late-model R50p, indicated by its Lenovo branding on the lower case. Sadly its FireGL died in 2012 from my video gaming, which is a shame, as a late-model I wonder if it had a lead-solder Southbridge. Anyway, I stuck the UXGA in an R61i and lo-and-behold, the splash screen works and it's got EDID data (like a funky manufacture date value of 1990) but it works and it is beautiful. So there's a chance if the ID-TECH comes from an end-of-the-run T43/R50, it will already be T60-compatible.

wanted to share my anecdote that the particular 13N7046 Hydis HT14P12 i pulled out of a 2005 T43 did not have EDID and looked really dorky in a T60.
