Hi All,
Recently my Power Manager Battery icon in the taskbar (currently reading 100%) turned from the normal
Bright Green color to a weird washed-out Yellow-green color

.
This is the battery icon that appears at the bottom of the screen near the system tray (aka Systray). This happen on Vista, but I have had it happen to me on Windows XP also.
Does anyone know what this means and more importantly, how to fix it?
Thanks in advance,
Michael

Just curious.....what percentage is the gauge showing? Also, how many cycles do you have on the battery? I ask because if have my ultrabay battery in and open up Power Manager and go to battery information (where it displays condition), the battery icon in there for the ultrabay (NOT in the system tray) shows yellow (the ultrabay battery is wearing out on me). I don't know if the Power Manager informs you of a semi-worn out battery by changing the color of the gauge.....maybe someone else knows?

That happened to me last year, on a z60t. If you double-click on the yellow icon, then click on the battery info tab, you should see the error message. If your battery is still under warantee, call 1-800-IBM-SERV and they should fix/replace.

Thanks for the hint about the "battery info tab". But unfortunately, there were no errors in battery info. I think the problem may be some kind of graphics bug in drawing the icon, since not only is the battery icon yellow, the text that says "100%" on the battery icon is a faded greenish black.

Did you recently change your desktop wallpaper? Turn off Aero and observe the effect on the battery icon.
Thanks! That FIXED it!!

Thanks
steveg47! That FIXED it!
GOOD NEWS:
I changed the Theme to "Classic" and then the
Green battery icon was back!
BAD NEWS:
But when I changed the Theme back to "Vista", the battery icon turned back to Yellow.
GOOD NEWS (FINALLY):
BUT, when I changed the desktop background, and the battery icon was back to the Normal Green. Strange, but that fixed it!
