Battery rarely reaches 100% while on AC

#1 Post by affaj » Sat Apr 14, 2007 6:45 am

Hi,

I am mostly using my T60 as a desktop replacement. Now at the end of my office working day the power meter shows 97% though it has been connected to AC all day long. Makes me wonder and post this message.

I think this has to do with optimized batt. life, you can change that in lenovo's power mgt.

According to my readings, LiON batteries should not be stored fully charges to maintain their health in the long run. Lenovo thus only trickle charges the battery once it raches nearly 100%. However, if you turn your computer off and let it charge, it goes to 100%. As gt5l pointed out, you can alter this in the power setting to fully charge....access by fn+f3, manage power schemes, battery information, battery mainentence, and under charge thresholds, select always fully charge.
