Audio problem with Windows Vista and Advanced Port Replicato

#1 Post by MrBigFeathas » Tue Apr 17, 2007 6:29 pm

I have a T60 and I installed Vista on it. Everything was working great until I decided to dock it. After that the audio would not work anymore whether it was docked or undocked. It showed the speaker as being unmuted but I couldn't get any sound no matter what I did. Hooked up external speakers, rebooted, uninstalled and reinstalled the audio device, tried different drivers, etc. Nothing worked. I ever reformatted and reinstalled Vista. Same thing happened. Everything was great until I docked the system.

Has anyone else experienced this and/or know of a solution?

Thanks,
Jason

I had something similar yesterday - but was not a problem with Docking as far as I could tell.

Also do you mean the Advanced Mini Dock?

I fixed my issue by going to Control Panel...Sound...Playback tab

Check which device has a green tick against it. Should be Speaker. If not right click on them and select Set as Default Device. You can also right click on them and select Test to check them.
