How accurate are Lenovo's shipping estimates?

The T60p widescreens are shown on the Lenovo site with a 1-2 weeks shipping esimate. However, I just ordered one and it has an estimated ship date of 3 weeks.

If it's 3 weeks, why don't they say 3 weeks on their website? When they say 1-2 weeks, to me that means that the longest it's going to take is 2 weeks; not 3 weeks.

Tomorrow I call and complain. May have to cancel.

Well, it all depends on:

-Available stock in the warehouse.
-How much you've customized it.
-Added options.

Pre-configured ones are usually shipped+delivered within a week.

In my case, it was pretty accurate. I have ordered 2 Thinkpads from Lenovo so far, one came from Lenovo US and the other from Lenovo Canada. I received them within the estimated time period. So estimate is just an "estimate", at times they turn up even before that time frame but at others could take a month too.

You're right... I'll shutup now.

As an experiment, I ordered a T60p widescreen and didn't change anything - kept the default configuration in the "customize" option. The estimated ship date was 2 weeks. I guess with all the options I selected, 3 weeks shouldn't be too bad.

Why Lenovo is so slow? I think for dell, it takes less than a week.
