Salut tout le monde,

I have noticed that power manager utility, when create/manage power schemes, edit and create some keys and sub-keys in the windows registry ( they are located here: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\PowerCfg\PowerPolicies\] ) some of these are:
"FAN_SPEED_AC"="2"
"FAN_SPEED_DC"="2"
"OPTI_FANCONTROL_AC"="1"
"OPTI_FANCONTROL_DC"="2"

"OPTI_FANCONTROL_AC" refers to "optimize fan control to" option in AC mode setting
"OPTI_FANCONTROL_DC" refers to "optimize fan control to" option in battery mode setting

"1" is "maximize perfomance" and "2" is "balance all parameters"

I have tried to change power schemes, and read these registry key values with regedit... and I deduced....

"FAN_SPEED_.." keys obviously control the fan speed in the AC or DC power modes... but I dont know what means the "2" value and which is the values range of this key: for exemple "0" is "fan stop" and "7" is the maximum speed and then there are the intermediate values or others solutions

creating a .reg file (or editing the registy with regedit) it would be possible to control the fan speed setting and solve the constantly noisy fan annoyance... is it too foolish?

-sorry for my bad english-

Salut

Felix
